Cuando alguien ajeno a nuestro mundillo aviador me hace preguntas del estilo:
- ¿Por qué te gusta volar?
- ¿Por qué eres instructor de vuelo?
- ¿De verdad que te merece la pena?
Es muy difícil dar una respuesta entendible, comprensible y lógica. Pues ésta actividad está íntimamente unida al aire... y no hay nada más difícil de enseñar a los ojos ávidos de materia que algo invisible, el aire no se ve, sólo se siente y es en él donde paso una parte de mi vida.
Quizás la respuesta a las preguntas venga dada por los demás, por aquellos que comparten mis vuelos, especialmente son los alumnos los que hacen que la labor de un instructor sea algo especial y única... pues si volar es ya de por sí increíble y enseñar a volar es doblemente increíble, lograr transmitirlo como la vivencia de un sueño es como crear la "nube perfecta".
Volando con Javier, como con otros muchos más, en su bautismo, durante el curso, la suelta, licencia, vuelos de navegación en distintos aviones y como guinda del pastel el doble mando y suelta en su Coyote recién adquirido con otros cinco amigos, yo también he aprendido.
Correos como el suyo son la respuesta a las preguntas anteriores, os lo copio tal cual:

Hoy ha sido el día, el primer día que volé solo mi avión, también el de mis socios. Me has pedido que aterrizase para bajarte. Después de dejarte, como el que deja a la novia en casa para seguir la auténtica fiesta con los amigos, he vuelto a la cabecera de la pista rumbo a las nubes.
No ha sido hasta mi tercer tráfico, cuando desde tierra, ese lugar donde habitualmente te espero a que termines tu vuelo anterior, me has preguntado por la lectura del horómetro a través de la radio y yo sin pisar el PTT, te he dicho:
- Ciento cuarenta y cinco con siete.
Pero al no recibir respuesta he mirado al asiento derecho y no estabas ahí. Habrán sido un par de segundos en los que me he acordado de nuestros primeros vuelo en aquella vieja P92, con la que jugábamos a esquivar los agujeros de la pequeña pista de tierra donde nos conocimos y con la que las lluvias invernales se cebaban, también de mi primer vuelo con aquel caballo de carreras que es el Eurostar, el primer contacto con una pista asfaltada, el vuelo a Segovia con tu avión y otros muchos. En fin, cientos y cientos de aterrizajes, con los que he disfrutado y aprendido a hacer realidad un sueño: VOLAR.
Después repetí la frase, pero pulsando el PTT.
Gracias Profe, nos vemos en las alturas."
When someone outside our little world flyer asks me questions like:
- Why do you like to fly?
- Why are you a flight instructor?
- Is it true that you are worth?
It is very difficult to give an understandable response, understandable and logical. As this activity is closely linked to air ... and there is nothing more difficult to teach the eager eyes of matter that something invisible, the air is not only feels and it is where I live part of my life.
